MiataWorld II: Day Eight

by Alan J. Claffie

The bad news is that there isn't much to report today. We rose in time to do breakfast with all the other Maryland folks who came to MiataWorld II - we had a true party of five - and then it was time to pack everything up, find a way to get all that squeezed into two cars, and hit the road for home.

Kate took care of the first two items and I did my best 'stay the heck out of her way' job till it was over. We left, and our caravan increased in size by 50% as James from Baltimore is joining us to the Gap and on to the Old Line State from there.

We set a goal to get to the other side of Nashville before stopping for the night but came up short so here we are in Dickson, Tennessee charging batteries of devices and drivers. We're still roughly five hours from Deal's Gap but the important part is that we're going to get there.

The good news is that there isn't much to report today. The cars are running well, we haven't been pulled over for anything, and the weather has cooperated about 98% of the time. We did have to spend an hour or so driving through a storm in eastern Arkansas but after dinner it was time to put the roofs down till we pulled into the hotel today. And now it's time for bed.

More later.
